Hi, I’m Roland!

I am a pediatric ophthalmologist, strabismologist, and an oculoplastics & orbit surgeon based in Baguio City, Philippines. However, I also see patients with eye problems, both children and adult, in the province of Isabela.

I am also an epidemiologist, a public health practitioner, and a health policy enthusiast. We conduct studies in ophthalmology with public health and social implications on the local communities that can be used to support the creation of health policies and the implementation of public health programs.

I am both a clinical and an epidemiological researcher. Among my research interests are pediatric eye diseases, childhood blindness and visual impairment, retinoblastoma, congenital rubella syndrome, medical education and clinical training.

Currently, I am taking my doctorate in Health Professions Education in the National Teaching Training Center for Health Professions in UP Manila. In an effort to optimize the use of technology in teaching and training my colleagues, residents and the public, I have started this website. I hope you like it and learn from it.
